Today’s Monday Musings question comes direct from MizB, who has a wonderful blog! Here it is:
Coming towards the end of April, we’re a third of the way through the way through the year. What’s the favourite book you’ve read so far in 2009? What about your least favourite?
The best book by far this year that I have read is The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. My review can be found here. I LOVED it. Such a good book. Perhaps one of the best that I have read in the thirty years that I’ve been on this Earth. It is followed closely by The Bridge of Sighs by Richard Russo (review here) and Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (review here). I looked for books that were engrossing, that I couldn’t put down and which taught me something. These were amazing. The worst book that I’ve read this year so far is Mr. Maybe by Jane Green (review is here), which is totally vapid nonsense.
