Today’s MUSING MONDAYS post is about mid-year reading…

Now that we’ve come to the middle of the year, what do you think of your 2009 reading so far? Read anything interesting that you’d like to share? Any outstanding favourites?

I have read a couple of books so far that I really enjoyed.  So far, 2009 has been good to me as far as reading selections. My favorites are below along with links to my reviews:

  1. Without a Map by Meredith Hall is about a single teenage mom in the 60s. My review is here.
  2. The Weight of Heaven by Thrity Umrigar is about an American couple that is transplanted to India after losing their son. My review is here.
  3. The Mystery Roast by Peter Gadol about an art thief in NYC. Review here.
  4. Sag Harbor by Colson Whitehead is about young African American teens who summer in the Hamptons.  Review is here.
  5. The Help by Kathryn Stockett is about race relations in the Deep South in the Fifties. Review is here.
  6. Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi is a graphic novel about her life in Iran during the Revolution. Review is here.
  7. Sepulchre by Kate Mosse is an historical fiction/mystery novel. Review is here.
  8. The Gargoyle by Andrew Davidson. Review is here.
