2 Months

So, Gabby had her two month well child check on Monday afternoon and, by all accounts, she was a trooper.  She weighs ten pounds, eleven ounces, putting her in the 43 percentile for weight. She was 23 inches long, putting her in the 75 percentile for height – so she’s exactly like her brother, who was always tall and skinny. Her head circumference was in the 50th percentile – not sure why they measure head circumference but ok.  Gabby was also right on developmentally – lately she’s been smiling non gas related smiles when she hears people that she recognizes (and even people that she doesn’t!) and she will look at people when she hears their voices, even going so far as to try to turn her head towards their voices. She also tracks too with her eyes, which is cool.  We’ve been cleared to do tummy time, so we had two sessions yesterday. Only a few minutes each session though, because for some reason she doesn’t like being on her tummy.  Well, off for now…

  1. So glad all is well! 🙂
Head measurements can indicate growth problems with the skull and brain. Andrew’s skull measurement didn’t change for about 9 months, so he went for x-rays to check whether his skull had fused early. It hadn’t, but a good friend of mine had a baby whose did, and they were able to catch it early and “resolve” it with surgery, before the fusion became an issue with brain development. 🙂
